Waking up poetry

Rainfall all around me,
overwhelming I cannot breath,
reach out a hand to touch you,
but I know I cannot leave.

Universally I feel so small,
so insignificant but here,
then I look and have cause to smile,
a moment without fear.

Since that day that seems long ago,
your face I can't forget,
and even when your back's to me,
you haven't left me yet.

Seems like a dream each time you speak,
try my best not to wake,
to continue on to see your smile,
risks I do not take.

Every day I have but one hope,
to hear you speak again,
but you are in another world from I,
we are waiting until then.

Listening to you type,
your writing a voice on it's own,
and every time I hear it I smile,
and no longer feel so alone...
