Short Poem

Do you really know who to trust?
An octopus like figure in the open,
As your household appliances slide across the floor,
As someone creeps up behind you and leaves your camera broken.

Do you believe in my innocence?
Blending with regular society,
Am I over here? Or maybe over there?
And as you explore; an overwhelming feeling of anxiety.

Do you feel guilt when you kill an innocent man?
Completing tasks with anything but ease,
Am I the chair you sat on or maybe this book?
Can I just get out of here please!

Do you laugh when I scream about it?
Trying not to become another 'tasty treat',
Have I really left that room back there?
Collecting the pages hoping the predator you will never meet.

Just who is the better manipulator?
After it all a happy ending,
You've been staring at me all along!
You say you're safe but you're only pretending...
