Gift for a friend

The cold crisp air was everlasting,
As would be their love,
I would not lie to say their love was pure as the winter snow,
But it was definitely a love that compared to others would be outlasting.

Though their actions may be frowned upon,
Though some of those things would warrant punishment,
Though there may be disapproval from others,
They stood by their choices despite the judgement.

Their hearts were one,
They would have it no other way,
At times their bodies were too,
That way forever it would stay.

When they travelled they were always hand in hand,
And often warm as they were cold,
Theirs was an affection that held no shame,
Though further details would not be told.

There may come a time when they will have to face what they had done,
When consequence would rear its ugly head,
But for them this would not be of much concern,
They would stick together and take it in their stead.

Not a single being could take them from each other,
No one would ever change their mind,
For they knew they would forever be true to each other,
Nothing that existed would cause them to unbind.
