Avenging Youth - Chapter 1

“Fascinating.” Steve scribbled on his notebook, smiling with minor overtones of excitement.
“Fascinating? This is more like first grade.” Tony scoffed, tossing his empty notebook aside.
“I wouldn't go quite that far, Stark.” Bruce smiled as he made his way around the desks and to Steve's' side to see that he was keeping up with the work. “That's a '2' there.” he corrected softly, pointing at his writings.
Steve promptly erased and rewrote the symbol with a small displeased pout; having previously thought he was following it well.
“Give the kid a break, Bruce.” Tony grinned, tossing a piece of gum into his mouth, “He could never be expected to have even the slightest clue about how electricity is formed never mind medical physics.”
Bruce gave him a scolding look like that of a displeased mother; putting a hand on Steve's back to reassure him.
Steve just pulled himself away and glowering at Tony he strode out of the class. Bruce just sighed, putting his hands on his hips.
“When are you gonna cut the kid a break?” he went after Steve.
Tony just looked around, raising his arms as if he'd done nothing wrong, “What?” he questioned aloud before rolling his eyes and looking back to the work, chewing his gum.

Outside in the sporting grounds the sun was shining perfectly upon the tennis court where a friendly competition was currently in play.
“Ha! Well done, brother! Thy backhand is by far improving!” Thor beamed as he swung his bat, launching the ball back towards Loki who spun and struck it back at him. Loki looked unamused, as if he was displeased with their play; in all honesty his brothers praise meant naught to him, he was not seeking his approval of his abilities.
Thor was chuckling happily, clearly enjoying himself and the – what he considered – friendly competition. Thor could see their practice time was at its end and he took the opportunity for an overhead smash. The corners of Loki's previously expressionless mouth turned up into a smirk as he crouched himself slightly before putting momentum into a strong 360 degree spin and he struck the tennis ball back in Thor's' direction; the ball now coated in a thick lair of solid ice that Thor ducked to narrowly avoid, the ball flying off into the skies. Loki stood straight with a smirk, bat now resting across both hands.
“I do believe the aim of the game is to strike the ball, brother.” he said simply.
The two made haste to the gym changing rooms

Natasha saw the ice ball fly over head as she came to a stop in the nearby Track field. She took this as the signal that the next class was due soon and moving her hair from her face she approached the track side bench where she sat to change out of her running shoes. Natasha grinned;
“How long have you been there, Clint?” she asked, not raising her head as she untied her shoe laces.
Clint dropped down from a nearby tree and approached her.
“I had a free session, wanted to see how you were doing.” he put his hands casually in his pockets as he cleared his throat a little and stood there, shuffling his feet slightly.
“Thanks but how much trouble can I get into at Track?” she asked with a grin, looking up at him as he shuffled about.
“Is it so wrong to wanna see how my best friend is doing-?”
“Maybe it is when you should be doing something more productive.” she said with a soft grin, standing with her running shoes in hand. “Well, aren't you coming?”
Clint followed Natasha to the changing rooms, waiting outside of them to walk her to the next class once she was changed.
